I’m launching a new podcast! “Speaking for the Trees, No Matter Where They’re From.” It’ll feature interviews with nature lovers on plants & ecology, with a special focus on “invasive plant” mythologies & on threats to habitat from “green energy” development. Plus agriculture, wildtending, plant consciousness and more.
The first interview will be released sometime in February, and once a month thereafter. In the meantime, you can already subscribe to it, so you won’t miss that first episode as soon as it comes out. Please do that! To enjoy in the meantime, there’s a fun trailer narrated by the always charming Nikki Hill.
Video versions will be available on my YouTube channel, Radio Free Sunroot, so if you’re not already subscribed there, please do so!
To find it, search for it by name, or follow these links:
- Apple podcasts
- Google podcasts (still waiting for it to show up)
- Spotify
- Audible

If you can’t find it on your preferred app or service, let me know so I can get it added.
Financial supporters on Substack and Patreon will get early access to the interviews in a raw, mostly unedited form, as a kind of “behind the scenes” thing.
How long will I do this? That depends!
I did ~70 weekly episodes of my previous podcast, “Voices for Nature & Peace,” from 2020-2021. Though I enjoyed doing it, it never really gained any traction. I never got as many listeners as I hoped for. Partly that was because many of my topics were political issues that are commonly squashed by social media algorithms. This podcast is different. It’s about plants, and should be sidestepping all that. But if it under-performs, I will drop it, as I want to focus my energy where it’s having an effect. It’s an experiment. So, dear readers, if you like the idea of me doing another podcast, or enjoy the episodes as they are released, please please please help spread the word! Especially if you’re on social media, where I no longer have a presence. (Though I’m considering TikTok…)
Thanks and I hope you enjoy listening or watching!
